|Heidi Lieberman is an Oregon native. She rides a motorcycle. She listens to Honky Tonk. Her company is called Honeyfox, and she makes beautiful native-inspired Jewelry. Get lost in her IG account for a while, and you will see why we wanted to use her studio as our backdrop for this week's edition of Rare Grooves. We love to meet up with people who put plenty of soul into their work, so it was really inspiring to catch up with Heidi and enjoy some rare spring sunshine with her pups, her dude and her motorcycle. Here's a little Q & A with Heidi of Honeyfox!
How long have you lived in Portland? I’ve lived here for 13 years but was born and raised in Oregon.
What is the biggest influence of your personal style? I’d say its a mixture of the music I listen to and nature. I’m a jeans, boots, t shirt girl and always have been.
When you aren’t making amazing jewelry, what’s your favorite thing to do? Take my dogs somewhere beautiful and enjoy the outdoors.
What music on your playlist is in heaviest rotation at the moment? Townes Van Zandt, Waylon Jennings, Sturgill Simpson…basically all country.
Give us one of your absolute best memories as a kid. Riding ponies on my Grandmas ranch in Southern Oregon.
Give a quick snapshot of your typical work day. I usually head into my studio with a cup of coffee and my dogs. Put some music on and start working. Beading is pretty tedious so I take a short break every few hours to stretch my legs and back. And then I work until my eyes are blurry haha!
If you could do anything in the world right now, what would it be? I would travel all over it!
